The sight and sound of a properly conceived and well-positioned fountain can provide movement, light and visual vigour in any pond or lake. The style of a fountain must complement its surroundings and the display add to the overall picture. More often than not, a fountain installed where there is also a waterfall is a mistake - too confusing - water going both up and down. Whether a fountain is a simple single jet, a complex array or a stand-alone architectural or sculptural feature it will make a delightful counterpoint to, or enhancement of, an existing garden space when it has been well thought out.
