We routinely tackle woodland management around ponds, lakes and water gardens in Surrey, West Sussex and Hampshire.

Pond-side and Lakeside woodland management

A (non-exhaustive) list of the woodland works we undertake around ponds and lakes includes:-

  • Removal of fallen trees from ponds, lakes and watercourses
  • Brushcutting, strimming and clearing saw work (brambles, scrub growth)
  • Pole saw pruning (canopy raising, dead branch removal)
  • Removal of invasive species (Laurel, Ponticum Rhododendron)
  • Planting (native trees and hedges)
  • Thinning (letting in light to encourage a plant rich understory and habitat)
  • Natural path creation
  • Coppicing and pollarding
  • Herbicide weed control (prevent the regeneration of brambles and other invasive species after cutting)
  • Tree felling
  • Tree inspection
  • Tree care

Safeguarding, improving and/or regenerating woodlands in the vicinity of the ponds and lakes we work on is often part of the 'water gardening' project – necessary of itself of course, but also necessary to complete the picture. We undertake these works knowing that woodland management works will only enhance the pond or lake in question.
