Still water...

Colour and calm...
Lily ponds are showcase ponds.
When considering the construction of a lily pond (at its design stage preferably) some thought must be given to creating a pond of an appropriate depth to support the lilies that will embellish it. The depth of water that water lilies can tolerate varies with the variety of lily chosen so most ponds and lakes will be able to support some lily growth provided that the variety of lily is chosen to suit the depths available or those being built into the pond. Big fish (especially Koi carp) will uproot newly planted water lilies unless the lily is protected. Lilies do not tolerate running water or being drenched from above by, for instance, a fountain.
We design, build, plant, maintain and repair lily ponds in Surrey, West Sussex and Hampshire.
In most types of pond, we consider the inclusion of at least one lily to be obligatory. The quintessential pond plant.
