Pond maintenance

The plants, the filtration system (if there is one) the banks and the structures in and around the pond will, from time to time, require maintaining to keep the pond in good fettle and looking its best. Silt may need to be removed from the pond and, occasionally, if maintenance has not been as assiduous as it might have been, a full pond clean out may be required.

Pond silt removal and pond clean out works

We undertake silt removal and clean-out works in ponds, both natural and artificial. We are adept at minimising the impact of silt removal on the environment and its attendant fauna and flora. Where the quantities involved are not excessive (pond clean-out) this work is usually undertaken by hand. In larger features, we use very garden-friendly silt pumping machinery and/or excavators as dictated by the site and handling requirements. Wherever possible we aim to retain a significant proportion of the existing pond water to reintroduce to the pond once it is cleaned out.

Seasonal set-up and servicing works
